A new beginning

I have been meaning to start this blog for quite a while now, but never quite found something to start it off.  Well, on Monday afternoon I was listening to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, presenting his Emergency Budget (the Government called it the Pre-Budget Report) in the House of Commons.  I have known for some time that we have serious problems in the economy (see my report ‘Is Your Business Quacking?’, under ‘Free stuff’, which I wrote in May this year), but I don’t think that I had fully thought through how bad things have become.

Even using Mr Darling’s (probably) optimistic figures, Government debt is expected to peak at more than £1 trillion (£1,000,000,000,000) before things get better. That’s more than £17,500 for every person in the country.  There will be no years of rapid growth to follow the recession and Mr Darling does not expect the economy to return to ‘normal’ until 2015-2016 and to get there he needs to take £100 billion from us over the six years after his new “stimulus package” takes effect.

Why is all this relevant to Internet Marketing? Well, we are in a downward spiral of falling asset prices, rising numbers of business failures and rising unemployment, all feeding into more of the same.  Financial Director magazine (December 2008) forecasts that “Thousands of companies are going to go bust in 2009″.  Do you feel safe working for someone else?  If not, would you like an additional income?  Internet Marketing can provide that income and now is a good time to start for a number of reasons.

Internet Marketing is not a ‘get rich quick’ scheme.  However, if you work at it, Internet Marketing can provide you with a good full time income and, if you are good at it, you may well get rich – I hope that you do!

Keep reading my blog and I will share the news, tips and tricks of the trade. Why? Because doing so helps me too. Keep reading to find out more.

PS. Don’t worry if you are not based in the United Kingdom. Most economies seem to be in a similar mess to ours and the principles of Internet Marketing cross national boundaries without any problems at all.
