Gaining The Knowledge
Having decided on your first niche subject you need to familiarise yourself with it (unless you know it all already). The key to making money is discovering what kind of information people want and then compiling that information into a range of attractive products. You don’t need to be an expert, at least at first, but, if you continue to follow my “recipe”, you will find that you will learn more and more and become an acknowledged online expert - which will make your products even more attractive and hence more valuable.
I suggest that you first find internet forums related to your subject and browse through them for a couple of hours. Join between two and five of the most relevant and post a slightly different question on each asking for recommendations for really good information products about your subject. You should get some good answers in a couple of days. Purchase the products if the recommendations are good and the products are available at a reasonable price.
As an alternative (or as well as), good information products can sometimes be found on Ebay for very little cost - there is an Information Products category - but you will need to take some care to make sure that they are relevant and reasonably up to date.
Read three or four reasonable length information products on your subject.
Then, browse www.ezinearticles.com (or a similar site) and a search for articles on your subject; you will probably find hundreds but just read, say, ten good ones.
When you have finished all that reading, you should have a good understanding of your subject and a good idea of what your readers will want to read about.
Finally, whatever your niche, you should consider joining an Internet Marketing forum such as ‘The Warrior Forum’ (www.warriorforum.com ). Such forums can provide you with great information on your subject and Internet Marketing in general – Internet Marketers from just about every conceivable niche hang out there. But beware, some of these forums are bitchy - always keep your cool when posting. Concentrate on information that will help you - ignore all the moaning, gossiping and backstabbing.
Remember, your aim is to get a good understanding of your subject – you don’t need to be an expert to start. Next week I will explain what to do with your newly acquired knowledge.
