Get yourself a website
To be successful you will need a website. In the past you either needed to pay someone to do all the work for you or learn (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc., etc. But no more. This web site is produced using the WordPress ‘blogging’ software. No web site coding knowledge required.
WordPress is what is called ‘Open Source’ software, which means that you and I are free to use it for anything, from your personal home page to a major corporate website, without paying anyone a license fee. Also, there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it and supporting it.
WordPress started as a personal publishing system. It has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool, used on hundreds of thousands of websites viewed by tens of millions of people every day. It is now a mature and stable product which is completely customizable and can be used for almost any website. I use it for quite a few of my own and those that I run for others.
If you want to do everything yourself, visit the WordPress website and follow the instructions. You will need a domain name and web hosting account first.
Alternatively, there is a service called WordPress.com which lets you get started with a free WordPress-based blog very quickly, but it’s not as customizable and flexible as the version of WordPress that you download and install yourself.
A further alternative is the WordPress hosting deal that I have arranged with Cornwall Internet Limited (I have an interest in this company). A web page will be set up shortly, but in the meantime email enquiries@cornwallinternet.com for details – it’s $15 (or £10) per month including domain name, if you mention that you read about the deal on the Clive Publishing website.
Next week I will cover choosing a WordPress theme for your web site. In the meantime, I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.

It has been six months since I used Jeff Paul’s internet marketing products. It has helped a lot attracting visitors and getting new clients. The products have helped me use fewer efforts of researching and promotions.
Wordpress is a great service for bloggers. There are always other options, such as blogger. But it really depends what your goal is.
Interesting post! Internet marketing is growing slowly in the IT industry but there is a good scope in it. Good luck to this new field.
