Stories that attract attention

I’ve been using the internet for more than ten years now and it usually takes something quite special to distract my attention online. However, as an internet marketer, I am always on the lookout for something new or different and yesterday I was indeed distracted by something new (to me) and very different.

At first, I assumed that it was an “April Fool”. However, closer inspection revealed that the reference had been around for a couple of weeks.

To cut a long story short, I saw a reference to “extreme angling”. The reference said “Have you ever thought about diving head first from a helicopter and wrestling with a marlin? Listen to the interview all about extreme angling”.

One aspect of fishing is one of my niches so perhaps this influenced me, but my idea of fishing does not involve the use of a helicopter, unless it is to get where you are going.

If you can come up with a story like this and get it circulated, you are going to get traffic to your web site and, therefore, succeed with your internet marketing.

Can you resist not visiting the story, which incidentally has links to other web pages and websites that I just had to look at too.

Extreme fishing must be a niche idea for someone; there’s probably not much competition yet!
