Don’t cheat your customers
I’ve just seen something that I found quite hard to believe. I was sent a “special offer” out of the blue. Normally I just delete such emails as spam but something about this one made me read it.
The “special offer” was for forty something videos on various aspects of making money online for $1 each. You got the videos one a week. At least that what it appeared.
I could not understand the economics of the offer. Charging $1 per week forty plus times makes no sense; credit card or Paypal charges would take all of your profit. There had to be more to it and there was. Three web pages later it turns out that the first charge would be $3 for the first three weeks and then you would be charged $47 per week. You would be charged more than $2,000 more than you were expecting!
I cannot believe that this guy was going to succeed. But if he had gone to the trouble to produce a good product and good sales material and been honest about his pricing he may well have.
Making money online is all about building a business. To succeed in business you must look after your customers. It is much easier to sell to an existing customer than to get a new customer, which is why your mailing list is so important. If you don’t look after your customers someone else will!
So don’t try to cheat your customers. It won’t work!
