WordPress 2.8 “Baker”
Over the weekend I updated the version of WordPress used by this blog to WordPress 2.8 “Baker”, named in honour of noted jazz trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker.
From the reader’s point of view, not much seems to have changed in version 2.8, but over 790 bugs have been fixed, improvements have been made to themes, widgets and taxonomies and the whole system has been speeded up.
The update was straightforward and hopefully has not caused any problems with the theme and plugins used.
WordPress 2.8.1 will be released shortly to fix a number of bugs, shortcomings and other problems with 2.8, but none of the reported issues seem to affect this blog.
All I have to do now is to update my WordPress UK Weather Observations plugin because although it works with WordPress 2.8 the BBC have changed the addresses of their RSS feeds again!
