HMS Severn in Mount’s Bay
This morning (Friday 28 May 2010) HMS Severn is in Mount’s Bay.
The current HMS Severn (the ninth Royal Navy ship to have that name) is an 80m River class offshore patrol vessel of the British Royal Navy. She was built by Vosper Thornycroft in Southampton to serve as a fishery protection vessel within the United Kingdom’s waters. She was commissioned in 2003 and is currently based in Portsmouth. HMS Severn is commanded by Lieutenant Commander Catherine Jordan RN.

Hi,
I love watching the navy ships and other ships on the solent and often see the navy ships. It is amazing how old the British navy is and it’s amazing history. This post reminds me I must visit the Portsmouth dockyards again very soon. It’s a great day out and I’ve not seen the Mary Rose for a while.
Cheers for sharing the photo.
Best Regards
