Open Source Software
I use Open Source software (including WordPress) for many of my web sites including this one. From time to time, however, I write my own software to provide the functionality that I require.
If I believe that this software might benefit the wider community then, subject to there being no restrictions to doing so, I may make the software available under the GNU General Public License.
Making the software available in this way also benefits me because others use and review the software and suggest improvements, and sometimes I receive publicity for my website.
